About Our Founder Nicole Zornitzer

Nicole Zornitzer founded Niyama Yoga Studio in 2007.  Nicole is an Experienced Certified Integrative Yoga Therapist, ERYT 1000 with 28 years of experience. Nicole’s background in modern dance lead her on her path to ultimately find yoga.  In May 2020, Nicole graduated from The Maryland University of Integrative Health with a graduate certificate in Ayurveda Medicine

Nicole has certifications in Integrative Yoga Therapy, The Barkan Method, Children’s Yoga through the Radiant Child Program, Pre and Post Natal Yoga and Aerial Yoga through Fly and Release Aerial Yoga and Yoga Nidra.  Nicole is also a certified Reiki

Level 2 Energy Healer in accordance with the Usui System of Natural Healing, studying under Rosie Lazroe; lineage under Dr. Mikao Usui.  She believes that the best teacher is also the student, self study is something Nicole feels very passionate about. Annually, Nicole studies with a variety of renowned yogi’s such as Janet Stone, Seane Corn, Johnny Kest, Shiva Rea, MC Yogi, Baron Baptiste, Karen Brody and Elena Brower.  A place that Nicole holds dear to her heart is Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, she takes mini sabbaticals there each year to continue her own spiritual practice and growth.

Nicole is the appointed yoga instructor for Livingston Public School System, bringing to the children of Livingston, NJ her passion for yoga and meditation. Nicole has specialized much of her career in teaching athletes, including the New York Jets Football League and the Trilogy Lacrosse 2020 Team.

After suffering from her own personal health crisis in 2015; Nicole turned to her background in yoga to save her own life. She will bring her experiences from her journey to wellness to the classroom in the most sincere and loving way.

Danielle Lesser Levine

E-RTY 500, Yoga Therapist, Yoga Teacher Trainer, Reiki Energy Healer, Ayurvedic Counselor

Danielle has 25 years of experience in yoga, having followed in her father’s footsteps from when she was just a young girl.  In 2009 Danielle studied under Nicole Zornitzer and Diane Finlayson under Yama Therapeutics, Integrative Yoga Therapy Program, receiving her RYT 200 certification.  Danielle continued to evolve with Nicole and Niyama Yoga Studio and became one of Niyama’s Primary Teacher Trainers by 2010.

In 2011 Danielle continued her studies under Kelly Morris, which opened her to the idea of Tibetan Buddhism and the Divine Feminine.  Danielle then studied with Cameron Shayne and developed her knowledge of Budokon; which is mind and movement arts and sciences. All of these teachings led to Danielle’s RYT 500 certification.  Danielle loves to learn and develop through immersion courses, her fellow yoga teachers, mentors and especially her students.  She specializes in Vinyasa Flow, Yoga Nidra, Yin Yoga and Meditation.

Danielle continues to offer workshops, Domestic and International retreats and seminars to enable her clients to evolve.  Danielle is a key participant in Niyama Yoga & Wellness Studio and partners with Nicole Zornitzer on all teacher trainings, retreats and workshops.  Nicole and Danielle consider themselves soul sisters, having been supporting one another for nearly 11 years and owe yoga to bringing them together.

Danielle is a native New Jersey resident and recently gave birth to her amazing son Reece.  She loves spending time with her husband Dave and watching her family enjoy nature and all that life has to offer.

 

Marci Jaffer

RYT 200, Advanced Buti Yoga Instructor

Marci discovered yoga in 2001 when she was searching for something restorative while training for marathons.  Soon after she began taking Vinyasa Flow Classes; she not only felt her body restoring and healing itself, but, was also shocked to discover that yoga instilled in her an immense sense of focus that sparked her creativity and helped her to achieve the mind-body connection.

After years as a practicing student, Marci finally felt compelled to share in the practice that changed her life with others.  She received her RYT 200 through and is a certified Advanced Buti Yoga Instructor.  As a high school English teacher, Marci also has an MFA in Creative Writing and an MA in English Literature, and finds the combination of yoga and writing/journaling to be healing and life-changing.  She teaches others to journal and combine this with yoga as a means to identify one’s true self in order to live the best life possible.

Stacy Campoli

RYT 200, Specializing in Power, Yin, Yoga Nidra and Restorative Yoga and a Reiki Healer

With over 12 years of experience in yoga. Stacy trained under the guidance of Niyama Yoga & Wellness Studio and Yama Therapeutics in 2010 receiving her RYT 200. Since then, she has lead powerful, dynamic vinyasa flow classes and was recently awarded National Yoga Performer Artistry title in 2019. In addition to a powerful practice, Stacy leads clients who are under the care of chiropractic care to a state of wellness. Stacy enjoys bringing a sweaty, powerful practice to her students. She lives nearby in Morris Plains with her fiance Gustavo and hopes to be soon joined by a furry German Sherpard to expand the family. In her spare time she enjoys cycle class workouts, weight lifting, outdoor runs and tacos! Stacy is one of the Niyama Yoga & Wellness Studio Teacher Trainers and Mentors.

Lynn Spampanato

RYT 500, AFFA Personal Trainer

Lynn has been working in the field of health and wellness for nearly half of a decade. Lynn’s reasons for wanting to focus on the body’s health are based on her own personal experiences of needing rehabilitation. Through her journey of wellness, she stumbled upon yoga and this was a huge turning point in her life. Through yoga she learned to love her body and her being. She discovered the gift of becoming mobile and having the ability to move without pain. Lynn knew she needed to share this with others.
In Lynn’s classes she focuses on alignment basics and emphasizes proper postures. She has used her own struggles to help others be the best version of themselves. Not only did yoga change her body, it changed her mind and the way she now views life. It is her mission to share this with all whom cross her path.

Cheryl Wilson

RYT 200, Specializing in Therapeutic Yoga, Yin Yoga & Children’s Yoga, Reiki Master Healer

Cheryl is an RYT 200+ yoga instructor with a passion for teaching mindful vinyasa, gentle yoga and yin yoga.  Cheryl discovered yoga years ago and embraced it because of its ability to heal and facilitate growth in her.  Yoga completely changed her life and how she showed up in it.  The power of Cheryl’s own healing sparked her curiosity about the inner workings of yoga.

In 2017, Cheryl began coursework at Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy.  The work is used during private and group sessions.  It also addresses difficult life transitions and change.  The therapeutic aspects of yoga resonates deeply with Cheryl and she is passionate about using this work as inspiration for her classes.  Cheryl completed her RTY 200 program at Onyx Studio in June 2018.  She also studies ancient yogic philosophies and vinyasa privately with her teacher.  She creates dynamic and creative flows while weaving these philosophies into her classes.  Her warmth and compassionate style supports students as she guides them safely using alignment principles.  All of Cheryl’s classes incorporate centering, meditation, pranayama and asana.  She also has trained with Bernie Clark and has a certification in Yin Yoga, having completed Level 1 Yin at Three Birds Yoga and Level 2 with Naomi Fox.  In Yin Yoga, Cheryl holds space for her clients in a way that encourages transformation.  Additionally, she is certified through Peace Play Children’s Yoga Program.

Cheryl is a mother of 2 children and resides in Northern New Jersey.  She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and singing.  Her mantra is “Find You, Be You”.

John Levis

ERYT 500, Thai Yoga Bodyworker

John is a native New Jersey resident, growing up in Whippany. John has had an active lifestyle all of his life ranging from ice-hockey, mountain bike riding and motorcycle riding. While attending college he became very interested in weight lifting and spent many hours in the gym. Eventually, he wanted something more and as it evolved, he attended his first yoga class in 1999. It was then that his life changed and he began integrating the practice of yoga with his cardio and weight training. By 2001, he gave up weightlifting for yoga. In 2003, John completed his 200 hour Anusara Yoga Teacher Training with Todd Norian and began teaching immediately. Over that next decade, he trained under John Friend, founder of Anusara Yoga and many other senior instructors.

In 2005, John completed his Thai Yoga Bodywork training with Jonas Westring and has been working on people ever since.

John is also a certified sommelier as well as an instructor for REI Outdoor School where he teaches yoga for hikers, trail running, mountain biking, stand up paddle board and essential camping skills.

John’s passion for the integrity of yoga and his thrill for life make him an influential lead instructor and bodyworker at Niyama Yoga.

Danielle Martucci

RYT 200, Reiki Energy Healer; Specializing in Mandala Vinyasa, Yin Yoga

Danielle (a.k.a Tucci or Tucher); began practicing yoga in 2017 looking for an outlet to heal her own body.  Danielle had experienced for the first time her own ability to create sacred space for herself.  Soon after she became a dedicated practitioner, not only for her body but also for mental clarity that tied together her mind, body and spirit.

Danielle graduated from Yoga in the World, RYS while traveling to the beautiful Morocco in 2018.  After teaching vinyasa yoga for a year, she desired more.  In September 2019, Danielle traveled to Mexico for advanced training in Yin Yoga and Mandala Vinyasa Yoga with The Yoga People.  While practicing with Danielle, you will receive a shift in introspection as she guides her clients through a journey through the chakra system and the four elements: Air, Earth, Fire and Water.  Diving deeper into our soul embodiment, going beyond the physical plane.

Anita Shukla-Accardi

RYT 500, MSW, Angelic Reiki Master Healer, Crystal Healer

Megan specializes in Power Yoga, Sculpt Yoga and Restorative Yoga.  She is a native New Jersey resident who graduated from Rutgers University in 2009 with a degree in Voice and Music Education at the Mason Gross School of Arts.  Singing and leading a group has always been a passion of Megan’s, which became a perfect combination when she began teaching yoga to her clients.  

Megan was an avid runner and discovered yoga while recovering from major knee surgery; realizing that she needed to pay closer attention to her body and alignment; while continuing to pursue her passion of fitness.  Megan quickly became a dedicated yoga practitioner and attributes yoga as a key factor in having a healthy pregnancy and labor experience.  This was the moment when she realized she needed to share this practice with others!  Shortly thereafter, Megan began her teacher training at New Jersey Teacher Training Program with  Stephanie Parcells at Indigo Yoga in Caldwell, New Jersey where she received her 200 RYT certification.

Yoga is a journey to self awareness that connects the mind, body and spirit; this is something that Megan loves to communicate to all of her students.  She is passionate about sharing her experience and knowledge with all whom join her on the mat.

Barbara Maher

RYT 500, Specializing in Anusara Yoga

Barbara began teaching yoga 16 years ago, prior to retiring as a corporate finance professional.  Teaching has provided Barbara the opportunity to share her love of yoga in an environment that encourages health and wellbeing.  She is drawn to the physical asana aspect of yoga as well as the sense of calm that is experienced from connection to breath.  Her training is in Hatha Yoga with an emphasis in Anusara Yoga, these styles of yoga focus on appropriate alignment.  Attention to alignment is the key to a successful asana practice, allowing the body to function in the way it was designed to move.

Barbara is committed to helping her clients live a pain free live through yoga asana.  She loves incorporating props into her classes to best assist all bodies to feel comfortable and relaxed during their time on the mat.

Jean Burk-Ujvary

Jean is a certified MOTR by Balanced Body (Movement On The Roller) instructor with additional
certifications in Mad Dog Spin and TRX. She has been part of the health and wellness industry
for over a decade and brings extraordinary knowledge of anatomy and function to each class.

Jean teaches MOTR by Balanced Body at Niyama, which is a discipline that fuses pilates with TRX training. This is a specialty program that we are thrilled to include in our wellness studio. Jean is an active participant in many activities; including snowboarding, wakeboarding, road/trail bicycle riding and spending quality time outdoors. Jean’s enthusiasm for life is contagious, her classes are high energy, challenging and fun at the same time. Jean’s mantra is to follow your heart, follow your dreams and always remember that a body in motion, stays in motion!

Megan French

Camille Alonso

RYT 200, Specializing in Restorative Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Yoga for Eating Disorders & Negative Body Image, Meditation

Camille has been practicing yoga for 11 years, earning her RYT 200 Certification and Restorative Certification from Indigo Yoga in Caldwell, NJ. She then earned her 35 hour Mindfulness Meditation Certification at Kripalu. Camille believes yoga is accessible to everyone because it brings peace, clarity and mindfulness into the world.

You can expect Camille’s classes to be relaxing and rejuvenating, and an opportunity to reconnect with yourself. Camille offers a variety of workshops at Niyama, including, Yoga for Anxiety and Stress, Self Love Workshops and Beginner Meditation Series Programs.

Lina Jost Hom

RYT 200, Specializing in Soulful Flow, Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga and Anatomy

Linda received her RYT 200 under the guidance of Niyama Yoga & Wellness Studio and Yama Therapeutics in 2010. In addition to being trained and certified in the USA, she has studied yoga philosophies with Swami Parthasarathy in India. Her classes are delivered in a way that uniquely connects asana (movement) with Jnana Yoga (path of knowledge to self). Linda’s classes are mindful connections to self, breath centered, thoughtful movements that are carefully sequenced, lessons and teaching from yoga philosophy and handled with love and compassion. Linda is one of the Niyama Yoga & Wellness Studio Teacher Trainers and Mentors.

Kristina Carnevale

 RYT 200, Specializing in Power Vinyasa, Yin and Barre Cardio

Kristina completed her training at Flipped Dog Yoga Studio in New Jersey.  Her approach to yoga remains focused on the balance between strength and flexibility, exertion and release.  Her classes focus on vinyasa flow, you can expect to move, sweat and draw attention to the connection between movement and breath.  The body benefits from movement while the mind benefits from stillness.  Kristina invites all to challenge both mind and body and explore your edge in her class.

Hallie Robin Hawkins

E-RYT 200, YACEP Specializing in Power Yoga, Buti Yoga and Motivational Hatha Yoga

Hallie is a Certified Yoga Instructor from Sonic Yoga in NYC, whose yoga curriculum was designed by the inspirational and motivational Shiva Rea. She has been teaching yoga for nearly a decade and began her journey while teaching pole dancing workshops / classes and competing in such for over 11 years. Her attraction to the mind body and spirit connection ignited a spark in her that she is passionate about sharing with others. She brings her knowledge of anatomy and physiology to all of her classes. Her classes are not your average class, they will challenge you physically and create flexibility you didn’t know you have. Her moto is “No Expectations” because each class is different, while using muscle groups in different ways.

My mission is simple….. bring yoga to as many people as possible and we all will reap the benefits.
